Well life lately has been revolved around Ruby, New baby wanted by all female kind! I figured out that Ruby likes to go sleep to loud music, Especially Meat loaf and Led Zeppelin

I've managed to do about 2 new radio shows since then. I went to an Indian meal with the Community Radio Station on tuesday. It was quite good. Besides from that i havn't done else much but sleep. I can usually sleep during the nights because when the baby crys Caroline gets up... Not beause i cant be arsed, no, i can, Its just Caroline is the on with Breasts. Mine don't produce milk 'cos im a MAN! I'm up tonight though because caroline needs a decent nights sleep so she put some in a bottle, with objetions by the midwife.

I've got loads of fustrations with the radio station at the moment. Mainly concerning the Playout computer as i've got to create an new song libary from scratch, the computers not ready yet... we go on air in January. I know i can sort it for on-air date but it's gonna be harder the closer we get to on-air date. Theres a lot of other stuff they are busy sorting out at the moment first though. I just want to get on with something! ANYTHING!!

Rity, 2:35 am. Off to find something to do online and then bed!

Ruby Visits My mum

Caroline, Ruby and I went to visit my Mum today. Ruby fell asleep as soon as we got in the car and stayed asleep almost all the way though going to my mum's.

My mum and i havn't exactly seen eye to eye for the past few years due to events that happened but we have decided to put our differences beside for the sake of Ruby.

When we got there Caroline thought my mum had visitors because she saw a baby on the sofa... However it was not real. She had about 4 life-like dolls that you couldnt tell the difference whether they were real or not untill you actually went near.

Anyway we stayed for a bit and had some Lasagne and Apple Crumble and spoke about general stuff. My mum is happy that she's seeing Ruby and would like to get to know Caroline a bit more.

My mum and i both agreed that we probably couldn't bare spend a full day in the same room without having a major disagreement. I also promised my self if she said anything i didnt like i wouldn't do my regular thing and completly freak out and show my view... even though caroline could tell when i was holding myself back!! I just agreed and let it go to keep the peace. I've had enough of the arguments and i don't want Ruby to suffer any conciquences us lot having arguments and what's in the past should stay in the past.

So atleast ruby got out and visited my Mum, She likes seeing different faces so that's cool.

The Sign of Christmas

Its the first time i saw a Christmas advert for Coca-cola this year. this tells me Christmas is in full swing now because my brother Ben used to sing to the coke ad. "Holidays are comein"

The thing is... the advert doesnt change on Christmas day or the days after to say something like "The holidays are here" or "the Holidays have been-a" so even after the holidays have been the song is still the same.

i've been told both but my mum recons she looks like my sister when she was born.

She's also got quite a lot of hair for a new born. everybody was well suprised. She's nice to cuddle and her hair is soft. She's rather sleepy at the moment due to the injections caroline had during labour (Didn't have an epidural because she was getting a bit shakey. She didnt need it anyway. 2 hours after this little blighter popped out.

When she came out and after she got cleaned off a bit she was handed to me where i welcomed her into the world and showed her about a bit.

She was more interested in the midwife sewing caroline up though afterwards. She also took the trait of my little brother Matthew when she was born, She sucked on her finger.

I love her loads, i right sweety, if she was a sweet, she would be a Wispa Gold...lol

Well on the news of my daughter being born, There is a sad note. A friend i made a few years ago has died. He wasn't realy a good friend or anything but its sad that he is no longer with us.

At Swindon Community Radio's RSL in 2005 i met Nigel Sharp, a broadcaster who was with GWR in its early days and I remember him mentioning BBC Sheffield to name some and was also religious broadcaster. I didn't know what to make of him. I suppose I was scared of messing up in front of him because he had this professionalism glow about him. I didn't know him very well but had heard stories about him, and he told me a few. I used to be the technical operater for some his shows as he found the desk a bit difficult to operate due to his medical problems. I remember sitting down with him and my radio buddy Greg, with Nigel telling us stories of his radio days.

My first on air experience with him was his first show on SCB Radio. Shirley Ludford gave me the job of tech-opping on his religious show "Saints Alive". I was warned though "Watch his voice levels, he can be quite loud" so while I set up I though I’d do a microphone check to make sure he isn't too loud and then turn him down a bit after the check. He gave me instructions on what to do (Finish news, he says "Welcome to saints alive, with me, Nigel sharp" and I start his music) what to play and his hand instructions. A young man called “Chekkers” joined him and was also one of his helps, a young input into his show and I was training him to Tech-op for Nigel. Anyway I'm there I am thinking I'm smart because i turned his levels down a notch and a half. The news finished and... The levels go off the scales!!!!!

"WELCOME TO SAINTS ALIVE WITH ME NIGEL SHARP" Music: DAA DAA DAA DAA DAA DAA DAA DAA DUM DAA DUM DEE DAA DU-DAA (I have a audio clip of it) and to make matters worse there was times I played the wrong song and made him look like a Wally... I didn't mean to!!!! Sorry! But he was such a pro he didn’t tell anybody it was wrong so they didn’t know and if I did mess up he didn’t get cross he just said “don’t worry about it.

Greg started taking over and guess what... He played a Christmas song by accident live on Nigel's show when he was tech-opping!!! The RSL was a right laugh I don’t know if we made him angry but if we did i think he forgave us and understood the that we were under a lot of pressure at the RSLNigel also had a country show which I also tech-opped.

There was one show I really bodged up!! I didn't quite like the music on any of his shows but I wasn't his target audience, but I did really want to say some stuff during the religious shows mainly because I am also strongly opinionated but i was probably out of Nigel’s league and didn't want to insult him.

It saddens me that he's gone and my thoughts and best wishes go out to his family during this sad time for them.

At 10:10pm 10/11/07 Caroline, my Fiance gave birth to a beautifull 7lb 7oz baby girl named "Ruby Michelle Robinson" (or "Roo" for short).

We are so happy. I dont usually say stuff like this but she's really cute. Takes after both caroline and myself! Caroline was in labour for quite some time, Her waters had to be broken and they couldn't give her an epidural because she is awkward. She didn't scream or break my hand and i didn't stand about like a wally or faint although to be honest my arms were slowley changing to Jelly!!!

Its 3am now. i just got back and ready for bed. Caroline was well nackered but she said it was worth it. I'll put up a propper story when im awake!

Caroline is in HOSPITAL!

I was shopping for shelfs and i had a text; "Where are you? I think you should come back" it said. I reply "i'm in wickes looking for shelfs, i was in B&Q and the fire alarm went off, Why?". "I think my waters broke and im in loads and loads of Pain" she says.

Well i got home she said she was in the bath and got out and sat down to put her clothes on and when she got up the towl was wet.

Me"Well the bathroom is a wet place, are you sure you didnt spill water on the floor.
Caroline:"No, the floor was dry".
Me:"Well you had just got out the bath... water drips".
Caroline:"Why would i be in so much pain then?"

after half anhour after deciding whether she should go to the hospital, we go to the hospital. After an examination the person at the hospital says:

"Well your waters havn't broken"

she did mention that caroline was in the early stages of pregnancy and gave us the choice...
1 - Go home and come back in a few days
2 - keep her in and wait till its born

She decided to take the second option. I would of stayed longer but she seemed ok, i said if she wanted me to stay a bit i would, but would have to be gone by 8 (Hospital rules) unless she was really upset i could stay a bit longer, plus she was setteling down for dinner so i thought i'd leave her to eat it in peace.

My mum rang also to see what was going on.... word travels fast. It went from my dad to my Brother Matt to my Mum. I did ask my dad to keep it secret to nobody paniced. Luckily it didn't go that far. Shes not in full swing labor yet but when she is then i'll be there. Im going in the morning to see her and keep her company.

No she hasn't had it yet!

Calls, Texts, emails, IM's all the time since tuesday. Caroline hasnt had the baby and all our mates are asking every 5 mins to see if Caroline's had the baby yet. The answer is no... and we have said to them all loads of times, WE WILL TELL YOU WHEN IT HAPPENS. Then they get back to me as if we havnt told them "Has she had it yet?" and i give the same reply "I WILL TELL YOU WHEN IT HAPPENS!!!!!!" but how many times do i have to say it!!!

And then theres the blaitently obvious situations, E.G a friend comes to visit, looks at her and says "Havn't you had it yet??" OBVIOUSLY BLOODY NOT! Theres a big huge pregnant lump still attached to the woman and you ask a stupidly obvious question.

We will tell everyone WHEN something happens.

Carolines got this friend... She's the worst for it. Every day for the last 4 months "Has caroline had her baby yet"

Anyway last night and tonight im on the sofa. Caroline woke up at 3am and said she was gona go 2 sleep on the sofa because i was sleeping ok and she wasnt. she was gona give me the bed to myself. I would of had a great sleep but decided that she should be getting the great sleep in the nice bed (Being pregnant and all) and i would be ok downstairs. I went back to sleep at 5:30 am. In the moring i wake up, take my stuff upstairs and there she is awake. "I didn't get much sleep last night". I didnt have a great sleep but was ok i suppose.

anyway... off to bed...

Update

Well the baby was due today, but its 3:20 pm and probably wont be here today, even though caroline is very uncomfortable and wants to get the baby out if her.

been dealing with Community Radio swindon over the past week helping out, thinking of ideas and stuff. Nice little set up at the County Ground.

mostly everythings been quiet so things are sure to kick off soon!

DON'T PIZZA ME OFF!!!

Well just been baby sitting for Paula and pizza hut have pizza'd me off.

I haven't had pizza hut for ages and Caroline and i thought we'd treat our self's so wile we were baby sitting we rang Pizza hut express up. First they tell me that they don't do the deal that is on their national website but does a similar deal which didn't include the big bottle of Pepsi so i got a Pepsi separate, and they didn't have Ben and Jerry's ice cream with it so i got vienetta. The order for 2 large pizzas, 2 side orders, ice cream and Pepsi came to £23.99 which isn't bad.

Me and Caroline had been paid today. all in £10's and £20's so we didn't have change or £5 notes. The first thing we buy is the pizzas at about 9pm. When the man came to deliver the pizzas Caroline answer es the door. I gave her £10 and she had £20, so that's 30 all together, but the man does this...

Gives Caroline receipt and says
Pizza man: "all the drivers have walked out today"
Caroline: (Confused) "Eh why what happened"
Pizza man: "i dunno" (Hands Caroline 2X50p and 1p) Gives Caroline the food and walks off.
Caroline comes in "Apparently the drivers have walked out... Eh that's not right"
Me: What?
Caroline: I gave him £30

I then go out the door and i see no car or bike or anything... so i call pizza hut. I explain the situation and the man on the phone tells me he will call back when the delivery guy gets back. About 20 mins later i get a call.

Pizza hut person: Hi, we've asked him and checked through his pockets and he only has £24 more than he left with which means you gave Him £25
me: Well i cant see how that is because we gave him a £20 and a £10.
Pizza hut person: "Well I'm more inclined to take my driver's word for it, I'm not saying your lieing, or that he's lieing but I know he wouldn't do that sort of thing"
Me: "Is it possible that i can take this to a higher level, maybe speak to the manager?
Pizza hut person: "Well there's not really much we can do"
ME: "You can give me the fiver back"
Pizza hut person: "Its not possible that he will have any other change on him because we do not let our drivers take their own money with them and they only carry a £10 float on them in change and the money you gave him was a £20 note and a £5 note.
Me: "Well how come then I'm £5 short? I am 100% because we had the money waiting for him after i called up"
Pizza hut person: "I will have a chat with the manager and see what he thinks. I'm not trying to fob you off or anything, we will ring you back later in the morning if the till is up"

I thank the man for his help and we hear nothing for the rest of the night.

At this point I'm not too bothered about my £5, its only £5 but I'm pissed off because the man delivering the pizza has probably spent my money and I'm probably not the only one and I'm well pissed off that the manager has blatantly reveled that he has taken his word over mine. (Formerly working behind a busy bar dealing with complaints like this, you are not to say anything like this and you are to refer them to your manager who will sort the problem out properly and give the person compensation for the trouble that has been caused)

When Paula gets back we tell her the situation and she calls them up. A man called "Phil" answerer's the phone. Phil claims he is the manager. Paula, who formerly had her own catering business with her partner knows the person she is talking to is not a manager as he is giving her lip down the phone and the language he is using, and is refusing to give ANY detail out, he also mentioned that any extra money the person who delivers makes is allowed to keep this. Paula was fuming (Had a bad day) and was going to go down but rang the police for some advice, who said to go down tomorrow and speak to the manager in person. However i shall be calling them up in the morning and asking to speak to the manager and then will ring up the head office of pizza hut to complain how the matter has been treated.

I personally think that the management at Pizza hut, Groundwell road, Swindon are bent and are fully aware this is happening. Anybody else at this stage would of given up and not been bothered, which is probably why people like that are working there. But also Pizza hut, a well established pizza company would of been big enough to apologise, suspend the people involved pending investigation and offer me some sort of compensation for the hassle they have caused.

I HOPE PIZZA HUT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LETTING THEMSELVES IN FOR BECAUSE THEY WON'T LIKE ME

Well there nothing much to say on here lately. Havn't been able to sleep properly lately. The last few nights i've been going to bed at 4am and i sleep very well so dunno whats going on there!

I've been going to Brunel FM on saturdays at the moment and updating internet stuff and doing radio shows. Trying to find something to do that does'nt cost any money because (No idea why) i was taken off the course at the training centre and due to this we havnt had any money.

My dad thinks it will all happen at the same time (baby gets born, we get loads of money and i get the radio job i've been trying to get for ages). i know most of it will come all at the same time but i don't know when though.

Caroline had to go to the hospital the other day... she had pains in her stomach and felt ill but its nothing to worry about, It was just the baby pushing at her pelvis which makes her uncomfortable, but the baby is fine lol. theres less than a month left untill it comes so thats cool.

Listening to GWR at the moment, not liking the music or the image they have. They have this request show with Andy Henley and a jingle that says "We'll play whatever you want... aslong as we like it" which basically means "We'll play what we think you want... which is whatever we want" which has always been their way since the corprate branding. Radio is boreing!!!!

I'm also a little pissed off and disapointed today because of something i was told yesterday. not gona say exactly what it is but i think its because the person who i'm disapointed with is jelous of me and is doing things to make me look stupid, just to take the emphasis off their odd hobbies and fettishes. Luckilly i have loads of ammo and not afraid to use it on my website!!!

No Time For Mr Jollie

Song of The Day - Candi Staton Feat The Source - You Got The Love How many more times do I have to explain to radio outsiders about the situation I’m in regarding my career?!?! I try to tell them that radio jobs do exist if you can prove you aren’t a time waster and actually want a career in radio and because there are so many time wasters they are stopping the real thing from getting in. Thing is when I start telling them that its so hard, they just say i'm making excuses!

The person who’s in charge our group at the training centre (Named Mr Jollie here for Legal reasons) is doing my head in at the moment. I suppose i’m doing his in as well!

Conversations go something like this:

Mr Jollie: Why not try hospital Radio
Me: Hospital Radio wont let me in
Mr Jollie: you don’t know until you've tried
Me: I tried hospital Radio Swindon ages ago, for 3 years constantly, they wouldn’t let me in. I’ve been at Swindon FM and loads of other stations since then and anyway they make you pay £10 a week to go there
Mr Jollie: Get a job and then you can pay for it

Hmmm, i’m in that place so they can help me get a RADIO job, or other wise I’ll be back there in 6 months. And I'M NOT GOING TO PAY £120 A YEAR to use their radio studio and nobody listen.

Other conversations go like this

Jollie: You think you can just walk in and get a job at radio one don’t you?
Me: haha, I’ve been involved in radio for 5 years, only 15 year olds with stars in their eyes think that’s possible. It’s terribly hard to get into a local station to do back stage stuff let alone a show on radio 1.

He then talks to me like I have no idea... I know what i’m on about!

Other times it starts with:

Jollie: You need to work for a small station doing back stage work first
Me: I know that, I was at Swindon fm for god knows how long doing back stage work and eventually I got on air... BUT IM NOT LOOKING TO GO ON AIR! I don’t mind doing back stage stuff (then a trainee gets involved)

Trainee: Why don’t you try GWR OR BBC?
Me: I’ve Tried there...
Jollie: You have to keep Trying
Me: I know... I try every few months and they don’t have much
Trainee: Keep Trying Hospital Radio
Me: I tried there for 3 years non-stop! I sent them a letter every two months and nobody got back to me besides from the time I spoke to someone and they didn’t get back to me either. The only people who listen to hospital Radio is people over 60 and radio anoraks
Jollie:(Does the "Yeah but no but" Dance) Yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah but no but.

For some reason he thinks I seem to say "but" half my life. Last time I checked it was coming out of his mouth!

When you or your mate had broken a bone or something or went into the hospital for an operation that listened to hospital radio? (It doesn’t count if you’re a radio person). You have so much choice on patient line, including TV and Internet. I've got nothing against the hospital Radio Jocks, I used to be one in Bradford. But there’s so much choice and the younger generation would probably rather listen to their local Radio station. When I was on I can remember that nobody even called, besides from patient line. At least on SFM we had a caller every so often that wasn’t the station manager.

I feel like i’m being treated as a time waster... even though I’m clearly not, he just doesn't like me! The bloke has even read my CV but looks like he's not convinced like I’m lying or something. I don't see what his problem is but he's trying to knock my confidence by what he's doing. I've put up with that for long enough and knocking it now doesn’t work, it just riles me up into my point-making mode.

But wait there’s more! My Heroes are Chris Moyles and Kenny Everett, some mad person even compared me to Kenny Everett! (not in a gay way) The people at the training centre know they are my idols and the trainee who seems to but in all the time had the idea that Chris Moyles has been at Radio one since he started radio and strongly suggested I try radio 1!

It went something like "Chris Moyles never worked at somewhere like hospital radio or GWR" I explained he had done hospital Radio. The guy then came back with (Thinking he was smart)" AHHHH! There you go then, he started at hospital Radio, where you should be going to get experience before you go onto radio 1". (WHERE HAVE THEY GOT THE IDEA THAT I WANT TO BE ON RADIO 1 ?????)

I then try to explain that hospital radio was different when Chris Moyles was on there, and I went on to explain that he didn’t do hospital radio and then jump to radio 1... he went to other local stations and joined Radio one about 12 years ago. He was confused. They have no idea how much it takes to get somewhere.

They seem to think that I haven’t got enough experience. I would like to get more experience, but doesn’t mean I haven’t got enough already. As for being turned down for a station... for 2 years nobody has said "You need more experience"

July 2007 Event Radio Live 10 day Broadcast, Trowbridge

Was involved with the Restricted Service Licence (RSL) broadcast for 10 days in July. The broadcast was on-location at the 34Th Trowbridge village pump festival at Stowford Manor Farm and the West Wilts Show in Trowbridge. I was appointed Station Manager duties, including Scheduling Shows, Presenting, creating the Station Jingles, Technical Operator, Making sure presenters stick to station style and locking the outside broadcast van in the evenings.

Sep 2005 Community Radio Swindon Trial, Swindon

I was involved with the Restricted Service License (RSL) broadcast for 28 days in September 2005. My duties were as Swindon FM, with additional tasks including presenting my own show and was a technical operator for most of the RSL.

Feb 2005 - November 2006

I completed a radio Basics course at Bradford Community Broadcasting (BCB), been involved in Hospital Radio in Bradford and helped out at preparing the Myriad System at Phoenix FM, Community Radio for Halifax.

Aug 2003 - Dec 2004 Swindon Fm (Swindon Radio Ltd), Swindon

Started at Swindon FM as a Broadcast Assistant. Responsibilities involved scheduling shows, fill in presenting, making sure the broadcast runs properly. I presented and edited the “what’s on guide”, made show trailers, Jingles and edited music. Was a technical operator, co-produced various shows and helped out organising competitions. I also locked and unlocked the doors in the mornings and afternoons."

Most of that I couldn’t of done all that at hospital Radio!

The thing that’s pissing me off though is that nobody understands, they think it’s a breeze doing it and it’s all about talking on the radio and playing music. The person who was training the group before was a bit more understanding because his dream job is to be a voice trainer, but thy guy doing it now and his trainee friend thinks they know it all, when then know ABSOLUTLY NOTHING! They should mind their own business and let me get on with it.

For those of you who are un aware... I'm looking for an entry to a radio job in the Swindon area (Don’t have a car or licence but can travel and am prepared to move if the job is out of Swindon). I’m at Brunel FM at the moment doing minimal stuff at the weekend but I’m enjoying it. I'm expecting some other stuff from someone else in the area Plus I have no idea what’s going on as far as the community Radio is going, well I might but nothing I’ll be mentioning!

Back to the Training Centre

Only 2 months till my bundle of joy pops out of my wonderful fiance and the government decide that sending me back to the same place i went to when i left school would do me good... Uhh nooo!

Because my line of work is hard to get into they put me on an FTET Media and Design course. Now i dunno what that's supposed to intale but i've just been sat on the computer job searching and going on Digitalspy when I've ran out of places to look.

Since then I've seen a couple of people who was there years ago including the warehouse Supervisors and the guy who is running the course I'm on. Anyway I've met this bloke who lives in Walcot as well, hates Swindon, hates life but is a right laugh so most days is just talking to him about how pissed off we both are and general chit chat about how to travel forward and backwards in time (however we dunno how to travel forwards because there's no logical explanation) and how Britain is doing these days.

One good thing though, I've actually got in voluntary somewhere in Radio... Believe it or not I'm helping out with the sports coverage at.... BRUNEL FM

I'm doing very minor things at the moment, helping supply the sports stuff from IRN and updating the presenter with the half time and national scores. hopefully will lead on to something else but you never know. I also spoke to Original FM in Bristol on Thursday. Hopefully they'll get back to me but I'm not holding my breath.

Another day in Walcot and another pain in the ass. Yesterday i was testing out the lights i got for my birthday. I went outside the front to have a look at the windows because you could see them outside. The kids across the road asked me if i was having a party and said the lights looked good.

But then for no reason what so ever the lodgers kid went out slagging them off. They came round and started throwing stones and kicking the door. Now these kids are OK until you slag one of them off, there was about 8 of them aged between 5-12 so when i say kids they actually were kids.

I think they have the same mum or something, all boys. Anyway they were throwing stones and didn't even see me and any one could see that i was stood there watching. One of them thought i was that thick that i wouldn't spot his brother hiding behind a tree, when not only did i see him run behind the tree, but he was even poking his head out and didn't even fit behind it. I went out and asked them to stop nicely. They didn't so i asked them again nicely with threat of the police and that i would tape them coming out and throwing stones.

The Lodger came out then threatening to call the police. During that time, My brother Mat had an idea to shoot some warning shots with his BB Gun. I told him it was stupid that he wanted to do that and asked him not to. Apparently one of the shots hit a kiddy on the arm which left a red mark and they called the police. They arrested him for ABH but was let off with a caution.

The next day, i was already late for work after being up late. So i get my cash out the bank, Put my £11 pound CHANGE in the STUPID THAMESDOWN MONEY TICKET MACHINE for my weekly bus pass. I get on the bus and continue to listen to Brunel FM and think about stuff going round in my head. Get off the bus to catch the other one and just as i look for my ticket i realise that the driver from the bus before issued me with a Day Pass. Should of realised after when i got on the bus so that was a bit silly on my half but then i would still of had an argument with the driver if id noticed.

So i go to the travel office and now i have to wait till tomorrow... IF his ticket machine is too high, which it should be. The Drivers cant take money out of the machine so he cant of nicked it, they cant even give change. Also... they spoke to the river who couldn't remember me or doesn't recall anything odd so that's a pain in the ass too.

Asda
Then i get home, have a rest and get ready to go shopping. I go shopping, get my stuff... then remember that asda only sell alcohol to you if your 25 or you will need id. I Just turned 23 by the way but i still have the feeling they'll ask. My id is beyond repair (Gone curly wurly after leaving it in my pocket and then washing it) and is at home anyway so i call my dad to buy it for me.

He puts the alcohol on the check out and this woman asks him if were together he replies "Well we are but i came back in to get some alcohol, he's buying his shopping" then she replies to me "Do you have any ID?" I say to her "Why should i need id, I'm not buying it" and she says "Well you are using the same trolley so i have to ask all of you" My dad is 50 years old this year, and secondly i do look over 21, i look my age, I'm 23, there's nothing illegal about me buying alcohol so why shouldn't i get served, Its obvious I'm not 17, 16, 15 years old, so why should i. If it was challenge 21 i would of been more than happy to say "I'm sorry i have no id, don't worry about it just put the alcohol back" and get it from the local off licence.

But not only am i given attitude from the woman... bearing in mind that I am not buying the alcohol anyway and i shouldn't have to get anybody to buy me alcohol in the first place, but she calls her supervisor over who explains that because i look under 25 and i have no i.d, i cannot buy alcohol. I question her.

Me: I understand what you are saying, but i know THE LAW when alcohol comes in to question, That is that anybody under the age of 18 can't buy alcohol, anybody under 21 can be asked for ID to prove they are over 18 and you can refuse it if they do not. In this case - Even though asdas policy in now challenge 25 - THE LAW says that if i look under 21 i have to provide id. Do i look under 21

Me: No not asda's, UK LAW
Lady: I cant serve you if you do not show me id that proves you are over 18
Me: So i look under 18 then
Lady: no, But Asdas policy...
Me: OK there you go i don't look under 18, I'm obviously not a 13 year old trying to buy alcohol am i?
Lady: If a member of trading standards is waiting outside and i sell you alcohol because you are under age we can be heavily fined
Me: So you are saying I'm under age then, even though its obvious I'm over 18
Lady: That's not the point, our policy is that.....
Me: If your not prepared to listen then as far as I'm concerned you can keep all this stuff because its a daft rule that totally fucked up

I then walk out leaving my shopping on the checkout, the shocked Lady's and my dad and my friend slowly following behind me.

What would happen if a couple (About 30 years old) Goes into asda with their 5 and 8 year old kids and the parents buy alcohol? My Dad, who was buying the drinks separately anyway and i was challenged because we used the same trolley... even though we had clearly stated that the shopping and the alcohol was a different transaction. What if it was actually my dad who wanted the alcohol?

Why should i have to put up with that. I'm 23. the whole point is that after you are 21 years old, you should not be challenged by shops, bars and so on, which is the reason its Challenge 21, not challenge 23 or 25 or 28.

Asda can get fucked and like McDonalds, I'm going on strike from Asda until they take this stupid idea off, and the person coming up with the idea is SACKED. I know me not shopping there isn't going to make much of a difference but it makes me feel better anyway.

Event Radio Live... 7 hour stint

Due to having to stay behind with Greg to perform maintenance duties to the van I was on air sunday night/monday morning from 12 midnight till 7:30am. It was an experience!

we had interviews with drunk girls which supprisingly went smoothly, and the electric went off, and i put a mic next to greg when he was snoring which went out on air, and we talked... loads, and had a compitition (Wheres our greg at) and had fun getting free boose. I still have the wine.

i didnt get much sleep that day, i kept falling asleep every so often. i actually got to bed at 7:30pm and slept till 9:30 tuesday morning. on monday i fell asleep in Gregs car and at Carls and it was mad lol.

The station is off air till tomorrow morning when were playing better music (Opposed to folk music). I decided to take myself off air on friday as i knew nothing about the music we had to play (Folk) and i will be back on air at about lunch time tomorrow and on air at 7:30pm - 9pm on 106.9 in trowbridge.

We were going to have internet streaming but due to a number of problems we arent.

update 18/7/07 PT 3

So my Fiance has gone up north. I'm left down here and i miss her. Not fair. But then again i would probably miss her anyway because of this radio thing. This weekend wont be the tough one though, Im going to be out most of next week, and i know she'll want me at home.

When we got together i explained that i might spend alot of my time on radio and for that reason, i have said the spare time i do have will be with her. I know the radio thing can take over your life sometimes and has to come first, but my Fiance always comes first and so will my Child so everything will be worked around them. My worry is that Caroline will get fed up with it and think i dont love her anymore. I always will, but i cant just say it, i got to show it and hopefully the two wont get in the way of eachother. I know i worry too much apperently but her being away makes me feel i should be up there with her instead of the radio thing this week, its too late to do anything about that now but i've got next week to go. I dont even know why im even thinking this, probably cos i miss her loads.

Well on Monday and Tuesday i went to trowbridge to sort out some stuff for the radio.

THE BEST THING ABOUT AND RSL BROADCAST

Things are bodged together. The listener wont know but its fun doing something daft, This daft thing thats been bodged together is the former "Orchard FM Really Rubbish Van" God its the best thing ever LOL!!!

It is a "Pimped up" renalt Van... ITS GREAT!!!. We've set up the broadcast kit inside and i'd say amusing was an understatement but its well wicked! The only thing is that it's a bit more tatty than what it was... but then again it was to start with from what i've heard.

update 18/7/07 PT 1

Well Carolines gone up north till sunday, I'll be starting broadcasting tomorrow for a small time and the last few days have been well odd.

My personal phone has been playing up lately so if you have my number, my usual number wont work for a few days more. They sent a new fone out cos they said its the fone... but the new fone does the same so must be the sim card.

The weird school thing continues on... I'll explain in a second though but this story ties in so hang in there! I went to a music/book/charity shop today on the off chance they had any production music... they did, about 15 cds so I bought the whole lot! Pretty good price aswell. Got chatting with this man called David Watkins who's involved with the zombie film "The Afternoon of the Rat Faced Zombies" (see http://www.zombie-film.com/) who found the cds for me which was cool.

But going to the weird school thing... Just as i was going down the stairs to have a look i saw the one of the people i used to hang around with at School, her name was sarah. I think i mentioned her before. A few times i was walking around town i didnt talk 2 her because she probably didnt remember me or thought i was a creep, even though we stuck together most of the time in school from year 7 right to year 10 when i got expelled, besideds the times i used to hang around with Paul. Anyway I asked her a question with (Like i usually do if i know someone) "Hi... I know you... Do you know where..." It felt weird cos we told eachother everything in school and if she didnt live so far away from the school we probably would of been well good mates out of school. Saying hi was a bit odd and didnt know what to say, cos she remembered me. So now i have no idea what to do if i see her about town again, either hi, or nothing! I wouldnt mind talking to the people i didnt have a problem with at school. Wouldnt mind going out for a drink with me and caroline, chat about stuff, get caroline to know me better and make some mates, but then again "No your a creep, bye" lol.

So anyway that was a bit odd.

Back On FM!

Its true... i'll be back on air... this time in Trowbridge

I'll be in trowbridge covering the Village Pump Festival and the West Wilts Show in trowbridge on eventradio:live, 106.9FM thoughout the two events from the19th - 25th. I have no ideawhat the heck i'll be doing because i forgot but its all goooooood!

Im sorting the tracks out onto the computer as we speak. The down side of this is that i was going to go up north for a week but the dates clashed and as i recon my chances of me sitting around up north doing nothing is high, i think i'll skip this one and go for the RSL. If webstreaming is available i'll let you know, but i have a funny feeling that it will be.

Back to training

Sort of happy but a bit annoyed about this

In 2000 i left school and was sent to a training place called Taurus Skills foundation which i left in 2002. I did my Warehouse NVQ there and when i left there was talk on taking me on but there was two people who didn't think it was a good idea. Also in them two years i asked to do a computer NVQ and they said i couldn't do it and they wouldn't give me a reason either.

I went to the job centre today as I'm still finding it rather difficult to find a radio job, and spoke to someone on new deal. I was expecting an ear full like "You cant to that, think realistically" and all that. Instead i was greeted with a "You've come onto new deal... why do you think you haven't got a job yet?" i told him why and a bit of what i did in the past and doing now and said "I know a course that can help". Now the thing I'm not happy about is that apparently i need to go on a "Course to help build my confidence".

I don't need that, my career involves me nattering about a bunch of stuff in front of a potently high audience and I'm confident about doing that. The second, is that the courses I'll be on are going to be at where i used to train. The difference is though is that they have changed their name and that they do more courses so it would be good to see who's still there. Apparently they will put me on placement and if the people like me where i go they will take me on.

I'm not sure on whether that will happen because i don't have much faith in that system, i hope it does!

Housing

Swindon borough council arn't helping when it comes to having to be rehoused.

My Fiance is allergic to cat fleas and the doctor said that we have to move immediately as her health and the unborn baby's health is at risk. She gets a doctors letter to say we need to go, and a letter saying that we need to be gone from my dads by September (One month before the baby is born) and the councils answer??

"So?"

SO??? MY FIANCE AND OUR UNBORN BABY ARE BOTH AT RISK AND THEY AREN'T BOTHERED?? That's pretty out of order.

I spoke to two people and the council say "You do not fall under the "At risk circumstances" so your details will be updated but nothing with your account will change"

As far as I'm aware we do as health is seriously at risk. So that well pissed me off

Walcot Wasters Pt 3 - Manic Monday

This has gone beyond a joke... And like rich says, "Jonks life is like a soap opera".

Im sat on my bed and Caroline was on the computer. We hear this noise on the window and a few bricks missing and hitting the wall. I open the window... knowing already who it was and start shouting.

So i shot down the stairs and burst outside (No shoes on BTW). I ask caroline to "Call the police 'cos somebodys gonna get hurt" and to hold my glasses (I've already had glasses in my eyes and didn't like it)

I'm followed out by my dad (who was sent home from work from having a swolen gland in his throte) and Barry (our lodger) to confront the 3 wasters. One of them was walking back giving indication that he wanted no trouble, but still gets his weapon out whatever it was. The other two was giving us mouth, and one of them was the guy who attacked mat. When my dad found out he went completly nuts. He started shouting so EVERYBODY in the street could hear and a few even opened their doors to watch.

So about 3 minutes of this happened and caroline finished the call with the police on their way. The other 2 were showing their weapons ready to hit us if we scared them too much, one with a bit of wood and one with a Crow bar or something.

I'm there watching what the other two are doing when my dad seems to be the one running the show now, and i'm making sure that none of them go for my dad. The thing was though... they were still mouthing us and walking backwards at the same time. I tryed to keep them near by so they would still be here when the police got here but they buggered off and we told the police what happened when they got hereone minute later.

What the hell is going on. Its completly out of order and STILL nothing has been done about the attack on my brother. Not enought is being done, and i think it's time to have a word with the press.

Baby, Baby

Well we went for a scan the other day to see what the baby is... We don't know because the baby was moving around and then turned around (being a pain) so now we don't know if its gona be a boy or a girl so keep the Boys names coming in! Were trying to avoid names that might already be in the family or names of people we know.

Re-occurring Things

I'm not sure why but things have been re-occurring lately and i'm not sure why. Even before i left swindon these things wern't there. Most of it has been from the 1996 - 1998 period.

1. There has been Two Songs that seem to turn up in my dreams... One was off this advert. It goes (I think) "Shaboom shaboom - De dum de loolang shaboom a langa lang - Oh life is but a dream" which i have no idea whi but i had that before with the ki-ora adverts.

2. The other song i keep waking up to going round in my head was something that reminded me of Madonna's Dear jessy, Cyndi Lauper's True Colours, Corgies' everybodys got to learn some time and some phil collins song (Not true colours) it was always on the radio when i was at school in "Theme Club" but i couldnt remember anything about the actual song. I asked Will Truman (Worked with him at Swindon FM, but for a bit we went to the same school) if he knew what song i was thinking about... Obviously he didn't Know what the hell i was on about. In the end i found the song on a CD from the car boot at random... It was Donna Lewis - I love you always forever, which peaked at number 5 in September 1996... Which was a good guess because i remember being told to go to the shop to get some biscits and i found an extra £5 outside under the "Magic" Tree (I belive its magic anyway) and it was starting to get dark and knowing how playlists work that song was probably played alot untill December and i pin pointed october when all that happened.

3. I keep seeing people from school (Which i left in 1999). That includes Hayley from the BBQ post, and Sarah From last post. But I've spoken to Hayley and told her that i saw her but havn't spoke to her just incase she didnt know who i was and thought i was a weirdo.

I hated school because i wasnt interested in what they tryed to teach me and i wondered off and got detentions for not listening or doing home work so i skived and got expelled... But i remember the good bits and some of the people. All i wanted to do was go to Music, English, Drama, I.T and watch P.E . I keep seeing people in town. I know Leroy remembers me because i go past his house to go to baby sit and he saw me once and shouted my old nick name (I'll show you a pic if i can get hold of one and explain why)

I wonder if anybody else from school thinks about me? I dunno why but i'm curious about that because i'm pretty sure i have a fan who knows everything about me and reads these long blogs... u know, probably someone from school, one of those fans who has posters of me on their walls and a doll of me but when they see me they dont say anything to me and cower away. What the fuck am i going on about! can you tell im sort of bored but think alot? Anyway i'd love to know if i have any secret people who love me quietly hehehe. You would have to prove it though. I don't know why i've been thinking alot lately but its all in cupboards in my head and its all falling out... Little details and possibilities and its doing in my head but i dont wana sound like a wacko by telling my bird, so i tell the blog (Thinking about that, why dont i just tell her instead of telling the whole internet content world? naa she might think theres hidden messages) is there any hidden messages?

4. I keep bumping into eating Cheep mini Tescos pizzas in a sandwich and watching working lunch... the two things i used to do while skiving. Same thing with MTV and eating tomato soup. The difference is i've got my Fiance with me and our lump hiding away within her tummybox.

5. Anthony (Known him since the begining of time) lives infront of my old school and it gives me an odd feeling because i remember looking out of the Window at his house (Before it was his) and then remember everything else

Anyway theres other things that keep popping up but cant remember right now. One more post then i'm off to beeeed

Keyboard Learning

I don't know whats going on with me lately but i'm starting to do things i didn't used to do.

I've decided to start learning how to play the keyboard. I started a while ago when i was in my flat but it didn't work, but i got some different books today and i've learnt a little bit.

I Orignally started learning how to play the keyboard in school. I was ok but i got fustrated on how long it took me to learn and the teacher was really trying to rush me.

When the teacher said that if i had'nt learnt a certain thing by the next lesson i would not be in next weeks class i quit it. I still practiced in music though. Me and Sarah (Old school friend... We used to hang around the library) used to play Elvis songs together (There wasn't any reason for it, Elvis was easy because it said what notes to play in letters as we couldnt read music).

Lol i don't think she remembers me now, probably not because she's forgotton who i am i guess like most people from school. I don't approch people i used to go to school with just in case i look like a complete twat and they dont remember me (Although i'd rather someone i used to know from school would aproch me) . I see her in Town sometimes and apperently has a kid now. We were well good mates in school (Oakfield Secondary) before i left and used to hang around together at school.

I don't know why but lately stuff has been cropping up from when i was in school... hmm i'll save this for another Blog

Fitness

I'm gonna start loosing some weight it think.

Since i've been back i've put on a bit of weight so as from next week i'll be going out a bit more, Bike riding and running. I'll see what i can get from the car boot to excersise a bit more too. My eatings not bad now, A lot of salad and stuff (If i feel like munching something during the day it'll probably be a carrot or something).

Since coming back i just hav'nt had the money to go and do stuff and have spent most of my time writing sketches. I used to keep my weight down by working my ass off and dancing and getting well sweaty.

My cousin Sophie thinks im cuddley as i am (Awww...hehe Love ya) But im not a bear so the excess stuff has to go 'till im comfortable again.

Yawn

I can't seem to sleep properly in this double bed.

Last week Caroline and i moved into a different bedroom as the lodger and his son have moved into our old room. On the first few nights i had no problem in my new bed back with Caroline, but the last few days i was realy moving about all night and now its doing my head in. I'm not cold, Not too warm, Got the window open and the room's naturally hot so that evens out and i have my own blanket because i kick the blanket off when i get fustrated or to hot in my sleep. I'm not used to not having as much space though and have got into the habbit of automatically sleeping with my hands above my head. I tryed going to bed early, Moderate, late, Really late and its not working.

I hav'nt tryed upsidedown yet so i might try that tonight.

Annoying Police

Me and my brother Mat have called the police EVERY DAY since he was attacked on the 5th of June and STILL nobody has come to take a statement from him. The police have said that they will come and see him and every time they are due they don't come. They even arranged to meet him at work the other day and after an hour of waiting they still didn't come.

If the Police are just going to do nothing why not just tell us to save me wasting my phone bill, Wasting Mats time, my time and theirs. Everybody i've spoken to so far have said "It Is Unacceptable" What do you think?

BBQ

Oh i got pissed!

Completly hammered.

I ended up drinking alcoholoc Jelly that has melted back to water out of a boul and im supprised that i wasnt sick, although i wish i was because i had a bad tummy box all day Today.

I was also told that i was a good and rather cheeky DJ, Picking the right sort of music out and fitting it well together, and may now also have bookings!!!! YAY! It was going well till the computer went wacky, i put a CD on, Fixed it, Nobody knew that i had a problem, and carried on.

My other speciallity was my cocktails! A while ago when i was at coliseum, Halifax, me and my mate dave went out for a drink after working the day shift, where i went into this Oldmans Pub called "Royal Oak" and created a cocktail called "Rolling on the Blues" which consisted of:

Pint Glass:
2X50 ML shots of Blue Curaqau (I have trouble remembering that spirit)
3X25 ML Shots of Vodka
WKD Blue & Lemonade

This mixture left myself and my mate rather drunk. Every time i've made this it went down Very well so i made that at the BBQ. Someone Brought their own Brew of wine in aswell which was definitly high in alcohol, and turned out to be a great night. Mat sort of gave up cooking and it was taken by Alan (who works in catering) naturally found his way to the BBQ and started churning out the sausages (Thank you!!!)

By the end of the night i had drank loads of the home brew. We put the front room sofa outside and mat and anthony slep out side untill 6am.

In the morning... Well i dont seem to get Full hangovers but today something felt like it was sleeping in my guts, and it still does, i cant seem to get rid of it and tryed everything so i felt sick all day today and nothing worked to get any out. Oh and i was shattered because i didnt sleep for long.

Hey! Very long time no see!

I had a BBQ this weekend, I was the DJ, Mat was (Supposed to be) The cook. It started off quietly with Me, Caroline, Tony, Mat, Rich, Jon (Someone i had made friends with At Swindon FM) and my dad all cooking burgers and drinking alcohol. I decide its time to get the karaoke out so we have a sing.

More people turn up, and just as im playing music, Mat and Tony were being cheeky to this woman on the phone outside, and she could hear us through the windows. Anyway she comes to the door to have a go... And it was someone called Carol, who we knew from years ago, randomly on the door step ready to start having a shouting fit... but when she saw my dad the tone changed to "Bloody hell, I havn't seen you in ages!!"

We invited her in along with her daughter Hayley(I was in the same year as her in infant and Secondary school) and all their kids in to come and have a drink with us. It was good to see them again, i think the last time we all met was about 1994, since then it had been quiet, but it was cool to see them, Especially Hayley as she was an old school friend when we were little kids. It was Maaaad! Apperently my mate Tony fell inlove with her... lol

Dead Fish

Today the lodgers Son brought back a lucazade bottle back full of fish. (He's that sort of age where you go to the local streem and catch fish and frogs) Now He had 3 big fish (index finger size) and they all died (Looked like babe fish when they died) along also with a bunch of other little fish that had died cooped up in the lucazade bottle. There was about 6 little fish left that i had to sort out and pick the dead fish out. Fun!!!

Walcot Wasters PT 2 (Evening at the hospital)

Seems like the window wasn't the only thing these wasters wanted to smash.

Just as my brother Mat was going home, Not even 30 seconds away from my dads house, one of them who was involved in smashing the window had seen my brother and punched him in the head. Not only that but he had given my brother a gash in his Left Eyebrow, in within 10 seconds blood had gone completly down his Millwall Shirt. We Called the police and had taken my brother to the hospital.

Now my mum was called to come to the hospital and we have come to an agreement that things were probably best as they are between us both as she put it (Hitting the nail on the head) "we're both very strongly opinionated people" "and we have different views on things" and called a truce. But i think it only took about 20 minutes after that untill we started arguing whether (If the option arises) that my brother should Press Charges on the Attacker.

My View:
Matthew Should press charges, It will teach the attacker a lession and will put an end to the matter. The attacker is then less likely to do it again because he has been recognised and any further assult will be blamed on this person or people around him. I also know for a fact this person either has an ASBO or will get an ASBO or fine or accumulate to a fine/Asbo/Possible prison sentance if this happens.

My Mums View:
Matthew should no go to Walcot at all what so ever (Where my dad lives) and if we want to see him we should meet him in the Town Centre. He should not press charges and let it blow over because (Even though this person does'nt know where they live) she is worried that they will get the backlash of the incident. This also means that the person doing it gets away with it but she says that her view is the one that is with Mats best intrest in mind.

A lot of people put Walcot down, I dont blame them but thats not to say that everybody here are all Drug Taking Violent Theifing Assholes. I have many friends in the area and its not their fault they are here and it pisses me right off when people in other areas put the people of walcot down because of the reputation of a very small minority.

The way she was talking about it was like her area (Town Centre) is the best place to be and thinks its a higher level than walcot. But (Read the Adver) the paper always says about the latest killing or mugging in the town centre. You hear about stabbings and that sort of thing once in a blue moon in walcot.

So with this in mind i questioned my mum about what if someone did that in town to her? Everybody goes to town, especially alot of drunk people and i asked her would she had been assulted in the town centre, would she press charges? "No" she said. I dont know what you would make out of that, but in my view, for mats best interest he should think about him self on his decision.

Anyway most importantly Mats Ok. He got his wound glued up in the hospital (Even though it took Two People to put him back together) and was sent home.

On my way home from the hospital i called a taxi to get me home. While i was waiting for the taxi there was a taxi driver having problems with an injured drunk man. Earlier, when we got to A&E at GWH the same drunk man had been treated and an hour later he was sent home in a taxi. This taxi had pulled up back outside the hospital with the man inside afterwards and the drunk man was instructed to eave the taxi and a confused nurse was trying to figure out what to do with him. Anyway i called my taxi and waited in the main reception. The taxi that came was the guy who was having problems with the drunken injured man.

Dunno if you read lately about the Taxi drivers getting loads of grief from customers. Well this one had LOADS of it tonight! Poor guy, He was really distressed. I think he was glad to get a customer that wasn't an abusive waster. He was telling be about his problems with the Injured drunk man, With the man drinking cans of beer in his car, spilling it, Pulling the steering wheel, Telling the driver he'll kill him, Almost Crashing! Thats bad! He was telling me that he asked if he could only go on days because nights were stressing him out, and he had no protection from people like that and was seriously considering his job. He likes the sort of work but doenst like the drunk, Threatening or abusive customers. I told him i can kind of relate to that as i was in a similar position in my last job at the nightclub (No protection, drunk and abusive customers) but his sounds twice as scary. I hope he gets what he wants or that he finds a better Job.

Following on from the last post, my dad thought it would be a great idea to put the glass in a black bag hanging from the banester rail on the landing right in the way of peoples feet. GREAT IDEA!

He kicked it 3 times and never moved it, but had shoes on. i kick it once and tare my foot to shreds.

I'm Ill today. Been dizzy all day and had an on/off pain in my stomach. I think its the Dilute drink again. I was gonna babysit again today but neither Caroline who had been up with a Baby kicking inside her all night or i was in any shape of looking after other peoples kids.

I'm really getting fustrated with the radio thing. Its really hard to get into this radio thing, i knew it would be hard but its silly and it doesnt help when people slag you off which can cause you to not get in.

As regards to my work I have sometimes questioned whether or not people just tell me what i want to hear, but then again i'm not sure because people ask me to do the odd show or jingle from time to time. I've been told my presenting is getting better (I regularly get other people to listen to bits of my show to see if im doing ok) but the other week i was really getting stressy about it because i'm never saticfied with myself! ITS DOING MY HEEEED IN!!!

I'm thinking on whether my demo's not good enough or if my voice sounds crap, or if i havnt put enough if too much personality into my work or if i need to try harder or if its not what they are looking for even though i know i can do it anyway.

If you wonder why it is so hard to get into radio/ Job at a radio station, there are a few reasons that make it harder

Time wasters
There are a quite a few people out there who waste time. People have this thing of thinking they are the best. A good example is the X-Factor. look at all them people who come on saying "My names Bill Ryerson, i'm from Stoke and i know i've got the X-FACTOR!" and when they open their mouth its a nasty out of tune audio mess. These people waste time because if they dont sound any good they wont get anywhere. You have to be honest with your self, Really you should get a few honest friends to tell you if your any good.

On top of that If anybody considering getting into radio is reading this, dont just think "My jobs crap, i'll try at this radio station because it sounds easy" you are terribly very wrong. You really have to be honest with yourself and you really should consider how much you want it because it is bloody hard. I would do almost anything to get into this medium. just sending a few CDs with something you havnt seriously thought about to stations wont work at all. The time wasters who do this make the Program Controllers so annoyed sometimes they don't even listen to CD's that come in and throw them away so not even the people with talent are heard.

Station Style
This one gets MY back up because this goes by how they want their presenters. You can't just walk in and be the next Kenny Everett, Phil Wheeler, Scott Mills, Dave Barret, Perry Spiller, Chris Moyles, Chris Evans, Chris Tarrent, Jo Wiley, Sandy Martin, Adam Smith, Steve Wright, Simon Hirst, Mark & Lard and do what they did/do because:

1: Your supposed to be your self. DONT TRY AND COPY ANYBODY
2: Most stations want people nowadays who only want the presenter to sound a certain way, maybe your voice or your style of presentation has to sound a certain way so you will meet the stations target audience (you wouldnt expect a Fun fast action packed radio show to be on a local BBC station because their listeners are on the older end of the scale)

You have to fit in with the radio stations Style. GWR for example only want someone who can read out something, Back announce the songs and someone with a certain voice. If you havnt got the Voice you dont get in. If you have too much Personality or too little personality or you dont say the words like they want you to, you dont get in and that pissed me off. I have a personallity and thats why people listen. I can paint a picture in someones head, It keeps people, but certain places wont have that.

Its Just a show
Well actually no. Mostly a show may be just part of your duties, the rest of the day you might have to plan your show, or answer the phones or you might have to be a news or travel gatherer.

People seem to want to apply for an on air job all the time which people think is easy. The Chances are that you will most likely do something like be a tea person, Door unlocker or studio assistant to start off with and not get on air at all.

At Swindon FM i did this for about a year before doing my first show which was Pre-Recorded first before i did a Live show, however i impressed station manager with what i could do on Cool Edit Pro and also had to almost run the station in order to get that far. You really have to proove your self. If yout not prepared to do that sort of thing then you might aswell have not even sent that first letter.

In Reality you lift the Microphone fader up, the red light comes on and then it hits you. You need to get your stuff together before you even think about getting on air because turning that mic on and saying nothing or stummering isnt going to sound very good to the listeners is it?

Luckily enough the station manager was very happy to have my help at Swindon FM and started letting me on air even though i wasnt station Style, (See Above) I did try!

Back to my Point
Its Really doing my head in. the only things i can think about that is that i wish that the station managers would open my letters and like what i do! Not only that but realise of how much help i can be to the station. I could probably make a station sound Ten Million Dollars if i was there. I dont know what to make of it!

Jobs Jobs JOBS!

Well i'm doing a major search now for a radio job, and i mean big time!

Over the next few weeks i'm asking and applying for 19 jobs in Swindon, Oxford, Bristol, Reading, Bath, Salisbury, Gloucester, Cheltenam, Banbury, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Basingstoke and newbury.

I've already sent the ONE Swindon letter to Brunel FM and also sent Oxford's off. I Emailed Jack FM Last weekend (They arnt on air yet but they asked me for a demo) Sent Demo CD's off on Wednesday to FM 107.9 and Fox FM.

Today i've also sent off a Application form and sending a disk tomorrow to BBC Bristol who have asked me to send a 3 minute demo in addition to the form. My only problem though is that the job starts early in the morning... and if i got the job, being in swindon i'd have to find a way of getting there! so i'm having a look at that.

Baby Scan

For those of you who haven't been here for a while or if you have just joined us, it will be news to you that I'm going to be a dad this year. We went to the hospital the other day for Caroline to have a scan and thought I'd show you a picture.

Caroline is 16 weeks Pregalumped now. Were expecting the baby about October 30Th. We don't know whether it's going to be a boy or a girl yet but were picking names. So far we've got a Girls name, we both liked "Ruby" so that's what we've picked if its a girl. We haven't got a boys name though. if you can think on any decent ones then let us know. We've decided a definite no to Christopher because if you put that with my last name its christopher Robinson and I'm not going to have my child subject to Winnie the Pooh jokes.

It was well cool seeing the baby squirming around, it feels well weird tho because its squirming around inside my fiance! I cant wait till its ready and its in my arms!!!

Radio RSL

Just Listening to Flame fm which is currently Having an RSL in Swindon. I dont see the reason of having RSL's unless theres a good reason like Education, Testing or Promotion of their Online or Digital Service. But i can't see why they are on... However i think their aim is to promote Christianity and the Churches as it's "Community Radio With a Christian Flavour". But i'm going to dismiss that reason. Why? Because their station wont make anybody become Christian, The only people who will stay tuned to the holy bits are Christians. Everyone else will switch off... and me right now have had it with people going at me about god and trying to get me to be one of them. But Wait theres more!!!

Its good to see that its not all Music music music, BUT... The music has no Flow to it. The show i'm listening to doesnt seem to be aimed at a certain age audience or genre. One minute it was Playing Take That, then "Daddys taking us to the zoo tomorrow" which sounded like a childrens song From an Early Learning Tape from the 90's aimed at 3 yearolds (You secretly know what i mean dont you), Elvis Presley, Talk Talk (That sounded like it was taken from Limewire.. Bad Quality) some Jazz and 60's TV themes. I listen to this Odd mix for two hours. before that show i was listening and the Mic and Music Distortion is Verry Bad, you can tell its live. I know how to fix that problem because i saw this alot. It is caused by the Mircophone Levels or the Music Levels being Too loud, they need turning down so it will sound smooth.

The worst for that was the people after 7 oclock. That was Verry bad! i couldnt make out what they were saying because they were talking rather loudly anyway so with their Microphones going over the volume level it was hard to make out what they were on about. i switch off 15 mins later because of the christian music gets my back up, Plus my dinners ready. One thing i noticed about various shows on the other days is that there was still this confusion on who they are aiming at and "That wasn't supposed to happen" is said quite alot. I wouldnt of noticed if they didnt say!

My point is that Having Flame doing an RSL will get the same reaction as an RSL for a radio station with a Clingon Fling. The Treckies will go nuts the others will tune for a little while in curiosity but they wont be reached by it so the listeners wont stay.

Reflections on stuff

Hey. Well i'm drinkin alcohol so im venting my stuff. I've got some Creamy mint stuff. Nearly finished. Carolines asleep.

Not been happy lately... Stuff's gone missing.

Carolines Engagement ring is missing, and then about a week later the money out of her purse is missing. My sister was in and i know for a fact she stole money out of my pregnant fiance's purse. The engagement ring could still be here but i dont think it is. the money though. I emailed my stepdad and (Naturally) he stuck up for my sister as him and my mum dont belive that my sisters been here (she says she hasnt been at mine for years) So if you've been at my house and seen my sister in the last 4 months please leave a comment.

I did hope my brother mat would back up my story that i was baby sitting and not in town (Like my sister said) but he pretended he didnt know anything. Since then he has admitted that he did know what was going on and confirmed that he had seen my sister at my dads although i did have to say how dissapointed i was with him after i've stuck up for him loads and now it was his turn he gave them a completly different story that didnt help me at all. Even though now he has confessed he did know what was going on in the situation i dont think they don't belive him, but i'm proud of him now because he finally confirmed the Real story which he should of done in the first place. Andrew Also gave a faulse story but that was because mat asked him to.

My sister told my mum and stepdad that i was banned from a shop called "Hawkins bizzar" in swindon. I've never been in so i cant of been banned. Anyway she told them i wanted her to go in and get me a squeezy chicken... ok like i would need one. Anyway she said i gave her some money and was gonna meet her in a carpark but she didn't. Well I dont even know where this bizzar shop is! Dont know what it sells and if she went in she would of brought a chicken home with her.

i understand that it was inevitable that my mum and step dad would take my sisters side as we have had problems in the past. I dont know if theres a word for this but when something upsets me it makes me really upset or unhappy but when something good happens... its the best in the world. So my views on my sister at the moment is that i'm not sure i want to know her. For the last 6 years i've tryed my best to spend more time with her and have been unsucsessfull. Now she's done this i think i'll give up. she's proved that she's not worth my time.

Matthew on the other hand even though he didnt tell the truth at the start he had made me proud by admitting what happened to my mum and stepdad and also admitted that he told andrew what to say to my mum. But i did have to tell him what i thought about the whole thing first. I have been fucked over so much through my life I've had enough. And since being up north i learnt loads and know how to deal with these sorts of situations. People who arnt honest with me arnt worth dealing with and are wasting my time. Theres no reason for any more bollocks and him not telling the truth made the situation worse. I havnt got time for people like that. I think then he reconsidered what he had said and told the truth to them.

Its true though because if i'm fucked over i wont stick around to be fucked over again and nowadays have no time for assholes. (Beause i'm slightly pissed i'm admitting this to you) when i was a kid my Old stepdad (Not the one previously mentioned) used to knock me about (this was reported to social services but not listened to) . I did used to fight back but i've got a scar on my left hand that on one occation i was too damaged to fight back. I wasn't sent to hospital because my mum didnt want any one to know. That sort of thing, along with other scars on my arms from with other people my mum's been in relationships with and me fighting back has caused me not to take shit anymore. It did my head in and i havnt got time anymore. if your my mate, your like my best mate, but if your not, i don't have time for you. I take things very personal and the littlest things can get my back up like a cat stroked the wrong way.even if someones dont something petty i'll get majorly angry with it because ifeellike it's morraly wrong

It got worse while i was working at coliseum though. Something inside me said that if anybody fucked me about i would come down lile a ton of bricks on them. i did, since then i havnt changed. Thats what i'm like now. I think My old bosses figured that... thats Probably why i got fired!

So going back to this situation mat has proved that he is worth my time. A lot of people would say that i shouldnt be like that, afterall he is my brother... Well yeah but I've been betrayed by close family before so theres only one other person i trust besides my self on being loyal and honest with me and thats Caroline.
