The Show

Hey, jusr getting ready for bed. Completly nackered. Slept for 4 hours last night, been up since 7am. Went to Birmingham today to see the SBES Exibition (Sound Broadcast Exibition show ... i think it stands for that) I saw loads of cool toys that i want now that cost into their thousends... which i dont got :(

I missed my chance to be on the Night Before with Nick Margerrison on Kerrang last night... Oh Well.

I added the shows speech/content percentage today... We are 40% Speech and 60% Music! just wanted to express that somewhere!!

Its Ruby's Birthday on monday! One Whole year since she was born... Absolutly Brilliant. Shes Really cool. Still learning how to talk and also took her first steps yesterday! She just let go of the table and walked into the middle of the room... But when she realised she fell on her ass... She wouldnt do it again when we tryed. Oh well :D

Caroline had an ID problem the other day. She went into the pound shop to buy some shavers and the person at the tills asked her for i.d to prove she was old enough!

Energy & Electric

I was watching an advert on tv today about this man who came into his house and started complaining about the electric bill that has run up in his house.

My dad used to do this all the time, walk around the house chanting "why have you got the computer on and that mixing desk" and "That red light on the tv on stand by uses more electric than the actuall tv does when its switched on" so when i see an advert with some dad doing that and the official energy saving people agreeing, Im there thinking "hang on, this bloke's a wanker, im not going to listen to him".

The whole point of the ad was that energy costs are going up so they are using that excuse to save energy and cut down on carbon footprints.

I think its a cover up. Ive already heard various reports that they are thinking about having scheduled power cuts. I think they are trying to cover up the fact that were going into a ression and that the gouvernment cant afford to keep the electric on. How come we're running out of electric all of a sudden? I might just go and buy one of them little wind turbines. Would i have share my electric?

Anyway what my point is... they are ramming this "your wasting electric" thing down all of our necks, Why dont they just send out a letter or something and fine the people doing it.

I think we will end up having this thing of having regular scheduled power cuts, so im going to get loads of batterys, a portable tv and a wind turbine so i can go online when the power cuts happen :D

Time for an update

Hey, Just updating as i have nothing to do

Been focusing on the show lately and trying to get a radio job (More in my radio experience blog), We've been constantly coming up with fresh creative stuff for almost 6 months now... its mad how we never seem to run out of ideas!

I have a laptop now so it's easier to write down a full sketch or write a script where ever i am... Especially if im on a train! Travel pisses me off... especially if i spend 9 hours on the coach and the best ideas come up when i'm taking almost a full day to travel. The down side to having a laptop and not taking a load of paper with me anmore is that i cant write and walk at the same time or get the laptop out while traveling to the radio station... get half an hours worth of sound editing in... but knowing the sort of people who sit on the back of thamesdown busses... i'd end up getting beaten up!

Ruby has been talking! She can say Mamma, Dadda, Cat, Grandad and Duck (She was calling my dad duck after calling him grandad) and knows how to say Yes, and shakes her head for no.

The Show has been going quite well. Our Producer has had a bit of a rough time lately and decided to take a step back from the show and the station a little. He's now our silent co-producer and we're looking for a new producer. Studio Matt is filling in as producer for a while. He's doing a pretty good job at it but he goes to collage fulltime, I think keeping him perminantly wouldnt be a great idea because of that, but we're happy with him being the fill in. To be honest when rich and i leave the station, They could do with someone like matt to fill that space.

Yes Rich and i do plan on leaving the station, but dont worry, Not yet because we havnt got anything else but we dont plan on being on Swindon 105.5 for ever.

School Reunion

Went to a school reunion last night instead of doing the show (i Pre recorded it). i actually saw people i had'nt seen for 9 years! I wasnt the best when school has anything to do with it... I skived most of it.

But yeah met up with a few people, Pretty crazy now that were all older. The thing was that not that many turned up. From what im aware they had one in march and loads of people came but i think this one was too close from the last one. So because there wasnt many people i just hung around with 2 people i remember untill 10 then i had to go to sort my show out for repeat. I was getting a bit too drunk aswell and i wasnt really keen on waking up with a hang over. I was drinking quicker because i was a little nervous (I usually drink quicker when im nervous, you should of seen the state i was in when i proposed to Caroline)

The pub we went to was a Wetherspoons pub... so good thing was it was cheep alcohol. The bad thing... For some reason after my second drink they refused to serve me and wanted my I.D to check my age! Basterds!!! I got someone to get me one then i got the rest from upstairs. the weird thing about them not serving me... Before the pub was wetherspoons it was

RADIO SHOW CONFIRMED

My Show will be launching soon on Swindon 105.5, Swindon's newest radio station.

My show will be Weekly on Saturday evenings from 7PM-10PM Live on 105.5FM in the Swindon Area!

We started test broadcasts today i even took a Picture of our RDS (The thing that says what station your listening to if you have a car radio or if your radio the ability to pick up the RDS Signal)

Update

Ruby is 2 months and a bit now. Were getting used to her and loveher to bits. She can hold her own hed up and has started to wave at people. She's also started laughing when you poke and tickle her and smiles when you smile at her.

We're moving out of my dads this month hopefully. We've managed to get a place in Purton near Swindon. All of my stuff i use to put videos up on youtube has been packed away untill we move in and i plan on getting internet in aswell.

Besides from that i havn't been up to much.

Radio Updaye - COMPUTERS

Well we finally have the play out computers in and that will be really good to get going. I am not sure when work starts on this but i really want to get it going so we have music on the system. My crew want to get into the studio and start doing our tests and stuff and were looking forward to it.

Radio Update - SCHOOLS

Well i was at Dorcan Technology Collage last week with the station manager of Swindon 105.5 Shirley Ludford showing year 9 kids how to do a radio show. Dorcan technology collage which is a seondary school in Swindon will be doing shows on the station. I was showing they guys how to use the kit and shirley was telling them the bomf about the station and how to conduct interviews and things.

I'm going back tomorrow to help out again so that will be good. It was fun.

Radio Update - MY NEW RADIO SHOW

Well its been marked on the scheduel and myself, my mate Rich and our mate Jonathan have landed ourselfs a show. It should start at some point in march and we cant wait.

I'm heading the show with Rich Grace as the side kick. Jonathan Mills will be our producer and we'll be unleashed across the swindon area on 105.5fm. Launch details are sketchy so i'm not gonna mention them but looks good!

We're going to have loads of features and games, very interactive and loads of great ideas. We're going to be on for two hours, at the moment looking like saturday evening between 8-10.

I've contacted our first "outside" feature (This is someone who is not involved with the program directly but will be doing the odd thing for us) with others in mind. The aim of the radio show is to draw attention to ourselfs. Were going to see what mad stuff we can come up with to do that and its looking good at the moment

However... i am still asking about at the locals to see if there is anybody who has the odd job going. I shall be posting the highlights of our trial runs on my website http://jonkable.tripod.com
